Our Rector (head pastor), The Rev. John Roberts, has been leading Saint Matthias since July of 2011. Fr John earned his B.A. in Philosophy from Samford University. After studying for a time at Fuller Seminary, he received his Masters of Divinity from Wycliffe College. Fr John and his wife, Amanda, both hail from Huntsville, Alabama and have three elementary age daughters. In addition to spending time with family, Fr John enjoys reading & watching the Alabama football.

The Rev. Dcn. Dolores Vargas has attended Saint Matthias since early 2017 and was ordained in 2022. Before that, she attended an Evangelical Church where she played bass guitar in a worship band for more than 20 years. She & her husband, Peter, live in Modesto, where she works as a Lab Assistant at a hospital. In addition to spending time with their three adult children & five grandchildren, Dolores also enjoys running lots of miles, training their two rescue pups, & spending time with friends.

The Rev. Jim Stout is originally from Pontiac, Michigan and was raised in the Episcopal Church. He moved to California in 1955, where worked for FMC and Varian Associates, while studying for Holy Orders. He was ordained in 1985 and a decade later moved to the Central Valley, where he pastored in Copperopolis & Sonora. Since retiring, he has been assisting at Saint Matthias. He and his wife, Pamela, have a blended family of two sons, two daughters, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Chaplain Eva Mauch is a Commissioned Lay Chaplain under the ACNA Jurisdiction of the Armed Forces and Chaplaincy. She serves at St Matthias and provides pastoral care in senior care facilities within the community. Chaplain Eva is a retired elementary school teacher. She and her husband Loren have been involved in ministry since 1984 including children's ministry, pastoral lay eucharistic ministry and music ministry. She enjoys spending time reading, & taking walks with her dog.

The Rt. Rev. Dr. Eric Vawter Menees was consecrated to be the Vth Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of San Joaquin on September 24, 2011. He is a graduate of the General Theological Seminary and received his Doctor of Ministry from Seabury Western in 2006. Bishop Menees and his wife Florence Guadalupe Mira-Menees have two adult children: a daughter, Milagro, and a son, Sebastian

The Most Reverend Stephen D. Wood was elected the third Archbishop of the Anglican Church in North America on June of 2024. He is also the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of the Carolinas, headquartered in a Mt. Pleasant, SC.
